MOPPETS Snack Idea: Turkey and Cheese

Here’s another satisfying snack idea from our MOPPETS Coordinator Jessica: Turkey & Cheese.

It doesn’t get any easier than this. Just roll two slices of your child’s favorite lunch meat and a slice of cheese. Then, cut each slice in half for a kid-sized snack.

MOPPETS Snack Idea: Apple Rollups

Here’s another snack idea from our MOPPETS Coordinator Jessica: Apple Rollups.

To make them, spread cream cheese on a cinnamon-flavored tortilla, top with thinly-sliced apples, and roll. It’s that easy. And, if you can’t find cinnamon tortillas, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon on the cheese.

Our MOPS Christmas Party Raffle

One of the highlights at our MOPS Christmas party was the raffle – it was amazing! Our moms bought tickets to win fabulous prizes and all the money raised will help fund our MOPPETS childcare program. We wish to thank the very generous businesses and friends of MOPS who donated this amazing array of prizes, and our wonderful Fundraising leader Andreia whose connections and legwork made this our biggest raffle to date.

MOPPETS Snack Idea: Banana Bread Mini-Muffins

Our wonderful MOPPETS Coordinator Jessica has another yummy (and super cute) snack idea for your little one to enjoy while you’re at MOPS: Banana Bread Mini-Muffins. And, here’s a recipe she recommends for a healthy, whole-wheat version.

Craft: Bean Bags for MOPPETS

One of our talented MOPS moms, Sara E., made these adorable bean bags for our MOPPETS program. Along with some masking tape, a bucket, and a list of Bean Bag games, these little cuties provide lots of fun for our children while we’re at our MOPS meetings.

MOPPETS bean bags

Here’s how she made them:

1. Cut your fabric (Sara used cotton) into squares, two for each bag. Anything around 6 x 6 in. is good.

2. Pin the right sides together.

3. Sew around the squares, leaving about two inches unsewn on one of the sides (you’ll use this to pour the beans in). Then, turn the square right side out and iron.

4. Fill your bag. Sara used green split peas and filled the bag about half way. DSC_0154_BeanBags6-7 6. Sew the opening closed and you have a nifty little bean bag! Click the image below to see and print our list of MOPPETS Bean Bag Games to go with them:

MOPPETS Snack Idea: Fruit Cup and Cheese Stick

Keep it simple on MOPS mornings. The snack you send with your child to MOPPETS doesn’t have to be anything fancy and it shouldn’t be a full lunch. Just enough for a quick break in a morning of play.

Here’s an easy idea from Jessica, our MOPPETS Coordinator: a cup of fruit and a cheese stick. Easy enough, right? Remember, all snacks should be nut-free. And don’t forget to label your containers!
